Latham Keele Lehman Ratcliff Carter & Clarke Reflects on a Successful WCI 2024

This year’s Workers’ Compensation Institute (WCI) conference was an unforgettable experience for our firm, Latham Keele Lehman Ratcliff Carter & Clarke. Our attorneys Lori Whitworth and Leah Keele not only shared their expertise during conference panels but also embraced opportunities to give back to the community through impactful volunteer work.

Community Service: Give Kids The World

The conference began with the annual Give Kids The World Service Day, where over 650 volunteers from a record 120 companies came together to beautify the village. Participants engaged in various projects, including pressure washing, planting shrubs, hanging Christmas lights, and crafting decorations. The collective effort resulted in more than 1,200 volunteer hours, showcasing the spirit of collaboration within the workers' compensation community.

That evening, the Give Back Gala raised an impressive $200,000, contributing to a remarkable total of $1.2 million raised over the past 11 years for this noble cause. We are proud to be part of an event that has such a positive impact on families facing challenges, providing them with joy, laughter, and hope.

Celebrating Philanthropy and Community

The Gala, attended by 653 guests, was filled with excitement as many attendees donned costumes as their favorite superheroes. The atmosphere buzzed with energy as guests bid on silent auction items, and the music inspired many to hit the dance floor. The event highlighted the profound impact of Give Kids The World through heartfelt stories shared by families who have benefited from the organization.

We also honored Jim McConnaughhay for his visionary leadership in bringing Give Kids The World to WCI as a philanthropic focus. His commitment to this cause inspires us all to contribute to our communities and support those in need.

Conclusion

WCI 2024 not only offered valuable insights into our industry but also reinforced our dedication to community service. At Latham Keele Lehman Ratcliff Carter & Clarke, we are committed to giving back and making a difference in the lives of those around us. We look forward to the next WCI conference and continuing our efforts to support wonderful initiatives like Give Kids The World.
